In 2024, Yen Bai City achieved vocational training for 2,259 individuals, exceeding the target of 1,790 by 115%. Of this total, 578 people were trained at the college level, achieving 125% of the assigned target of 461.
At the intermediate level, 336 individuals were trained, fulfilling 129% of the target of 261. Short-term and basic vocational training was provided to 1,345 people, meeting 107% of the target of 1,255. The city also supported the transition of 415 workers from agricultural to non-agricultural occupations, surpassing the annual target of 320 by 129%. Additionally, specialized vocational training was conducted for 35 disabled individuals at Huong Giang Social Enterprise, reaching 117% of the annual plan.
Yen Bai City has placed significant emphasis on training high-quality labor in enterprises by aligning vocational education institutions with business needs. Vocational training programs have been tailored to address specific demands, connecting rural workforce training with initiatives for new rural development and sustainable poverty reduction. These efforts have resulted in vocational training for 1,226 individuals, surpassing the target of 1,186 by 103%. This strategy plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of the workforce, meeting the requirements of the city’s socio-economic development objectives.
In addition, Yen Bai City has prioritized forecasting labor market demand and aligning the supply and demand for labor. Policies supporting job creation for workers have been actively implemented. The city has enhanced the capacity of employment service centers, increasing the frequency and diversifying the formats of job fairs to better connect employers and job seekers.

For domestic labor, significant efforts have been made to provide job placement services for unemployed and underemployed workers within and beyond the province. These initiatives aim to help enterprises quickly recruit workers and enable job seekers to find employment efficiently, thereby reducing the unemployment rate in urban areas. Coordination with the Social Policy Bank has been strengthened to provide loans for job creation and sustainable poverty alleviation, with a focus on supporting small-scale startups and small enterprises with preferential loans to invest in production development and attract additional labor.
The city continues to facilitate conditions for enterprises to expand production, thereby creating new jobs and stabilizing employment. Special attention is given to businesses that employ large numbers of workers, particularly in industries such as garment manufacturing, wood processing, and construction materials production.
Since 2021, Yen Bai Province has recruited and provided vocational training for 81,504 people. Of these: 6,359 people (7.8%) received college-level training, 12,710 people (15.6%) received intermediate-level training, and 62,435 people (76.6%) received elementary-level training or training under three months. Each year, the province has supported vocational training for 4,000 to 5,000 rural laborers.
Since the beginning of the year, the management of crop seed, fertilizer, and pesticide trading activities in Yen Bai Province has been effectively implemented.
In the first six months of 2025, Yen Bai Province issued two new planting area codes for domestic consumption. To date, the province has granted a total of 103 planting area codes, covering over 1,165 hectares.

Thanks to the development of unique and attractive tourism products across its key tourism areas, Yen Bai Province welcomed over 9 million tourist arrivals during the 2021–2025 period, including nearly 800,000 international visitors. Tourism revenue reached VND 7,189 billion, with an average annual growth rate of 32.7%.

The province has placed particular emphasis on infrastructure investment, especially in key tourism areas, to attract and invite investors.
In recent years, the movement of physical training and sports in Yen Bai Province has seen vibrant and rapid development, spreading widely throughout the local communities. Mass sports have flourished, and the number of people regularly participating in physical exercise and sports has steadily increased.
