Van Yen Records 90 Workers Participating in Overseas Employment

Since the beginning of the year, Van Yen District has recorded 90 individuals participating in overseas labor programs. Among them, 45 workers were sent to Japan, 7 to South Korea, 36 to Taiwan, and 2 to Qatar. This makes Van Yen the locality with the highest number of overseas laborers in the province as of early 2025.
This achievement is attributed to the district’s proactive approach, including the establishment of a Steering Committee with clearly assigned responsibilities for each member. In addition, relevant agencies and localities have been instructed to facilitate conditions for workers, such as access to preferential loans, health screenings, and language training.
The district has effectively conducted awareness campaigns and assessed the actual needs of workers to provide proper counseling and career orientation based on their specific conditions and capabilities. For local Party committees, authorities, and relevant sectors, overseas labor is regarded as a key political task and a critical solution to employment generation and income improvement. Authorities also maintain regular contact with workers’ families to monitor their thoughts, aspirations, and any difficulties encountered, enabling timely support to ensure workers feel secure while working abroad.
Van Yen will continue to implement its cooperation agreement with Wando District, Jeollanam Province, South Korea, to send seasonal workers, while also actively promoting the provincial Resolution No. 45/2024 and the Master Plan on sending Yen Bai’s labor force to work overseas in the 2024–2030 period. In the immediate term, the district aims to fulfill its assigned target of sending 1,300 workers abroad during 2024–2026.
To achieve this goal, Van Yen will closely follow the provincial resolution and master plan to develop detailed implementation strategies, with a particular focus on communication efforts targeting unemployed individuals, those in unstable jobs, and low-income workers. The district strives to meet the 2025 target of sending 150 workers abroad as early as possible.
Many returning workers, equipped with practical experience and capital from their overseas employment, have established their own production and business establishments, generating not only jobs for their families but also for others in the community—thereby contributing significantly to local employment and poverty reduction.
