The Yen Bai delegation, led by Ngo Hanh Phuc - a member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the People's Committee, participated in the conference held in Mong Tu City, Honghe Prefecture, Yunnan Province, China.
Recently, the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and China has maintained positive growth and achieved significant results, further deepening and expanding the relationship between the two Parties and countries to meet the shared aspirations and common interests of their people, fostering peace, cooperation, and development.
Yen Bai Province has had a cooperative relationship with Yunnan Province since 2019, engaging in many effective and substantive friendship activities across various fields.
The province has sent numerous high-level delegations to work with Yunnan, contributing to greater mutual understanding, cooperation, and respect, enhancing the capabilities of technical staff, leveraging the strengths and potential of each side, and promoting deeper and more sustainable cooperation between the two provinces. This collaboration has strengthened the traditional neighborly, united, and friendly relations between the two Parties, governments, and peoples of Vietnam and China.
In his speech at the conference, Ngo Hanh Phuc, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Yen Bai Province, expressed the province's hope to engage in close cooperation with provinces and cities to implement collaborative activities across all areas that are deep, effective, and practical, aiming to become an official member of the Vietnam-China Economic Corridor.
Mr. Phuc suggested that the governments of both countries soon invest in key infrastructure projects to serve the economic and social development of the localities along the corridor. He also called for the establishment of a more comprehensive and close cooperation mechanism involving businesses, focusing on the areas where localities have strengths.
Additionally, the leadership of Yen Bai Province expressed the desire to collaborate on training and capacity-building for officials, improving human resource quality, and promoting cultural exchanges and people-to-people connections to enhance mutual understanding and friendship among the people of the regions.
As part of the conference, the Yen Bai delegation participated in numerous activities, such as the opening ceremony of the China-Vietnam Border Economic, Trade, and Tourism Fair (Honghe) 2024, the launch of the "Hong River Festival - Vietnam-China Cooperation Week in the Hong River Basin," and a visit to the National-Level Mong Tu Economic and Technical Development Zone.
